And the sunlight just seems so bright. It always seems that there is plenty of it in September too. We soak it all up, knowing that the dark and damp of the winter months is not too far away. September feels like a treat for the senses.

What wonderful photos. Here close to Oslo we have beautiful sunshine one moment and the next it is pouring down. Sunglasses and umbrella must be at hand at all times. But that's September for you- beautifully unpredictable.
ReplyDeleteShadow Nancy carries a very big bag on the school run! All the stuff she might need in Never Never Land? We have amazingly few "prickly" conker shells this year- they're all very smooth so far. We are interpreting this as a sign of unripe conkers, given that many of them are still white inside. The residue of Hurricane Katia has brought them all down too early, methinks!
ReplyDeleteI cannot resist picking up conkers. Their shiny brownness is irresistible.
ReplyDeleteMy absolute favourite month - love coming home with a pocket full of conkers and acorns.
ReplyDeleteI am longing for a September like that. The promis of it got me through this horrible summer after all. But so far the pattern continues: one day of sunshine followed by a few days of rain. Maybe there will be a golden October at least?
